Dear Colleagues,

Our good friend Dave Hill turns 80 later this year. In honour of this and in particular of Dave's achievements and contributions to Polymer Science and Chemistry over more than 50 years, we will be holding a one-day symposium at The University of Queensland on Monday 10th December. Dave remains research active, so this is not a farewell event - rather his colleagues see this is as an opportunity to bring together Dave's close colleagues, to celebrate the progress of Polymer Science over the past half century and Dave's important role as a scientist, teacher and mentor.

The one-day symposium, "DJTH80", will be held in the AIBN building at UQ St Lucia from 9 am on Monday 10th December. Presentations will be given by a number of research leaders Dave has worked with and by other leading figures in Australian Polymer Science. A dinner will be held that evening with Dave and Mary Hill as guests of honour.

There is no cost for attending the symposium and the event will be fully catered, so registration is essential. Registration will be limited so please email Hui as soon as possible. Details of the dinner will be send soon - the dinner is only partially supported by the conference so a small cost will be charge to attendees.
